I have always been interested in art and design from as early an age as I can remember.  In high school, I thought I was going to be a fashion designer and got a scholarship to Traphagen School of Fashion in NYC.  Somewhere along the line I changed course and decided to go to SVA to continue on my creative journey.  I took painting and  black & white photography, learning some basic dark room skills.

But life tends to throw us many curves and sometimes you just wind up following a path that’s set before you.  A friend said I would love textile design, and she was right.  I got a portfolio together, headed out the door and got a job as a designer for Oleg Cassini.  There we designed a diverse array of products from wallpaper to shoes - a list too long to get into.  I even did a little bit of photography and had some of my photos printed in Women’s Wear Daily.  It was one of the most creative jobs I could have ever dreamed of.  We designed anything and everything.

Years later I headed out into a new field, soft-home, designing for a bedding and curtain manufacturer.  For awhile I crossed over to the retail end of the things.  I have now returned to head the design department in the manufacturing side of soft-home.  In the past, I had always been happy just being a creative person, but something was gnawing at me deep inside...  It finally occurred to me that I needed to believe in my dreams, follow my own passions no matter how impossible they may seem... to be creative just for me!

Which brings me full circle back into my love of photography.  I was always the one to take the photos on family vacations.  I always had a camera with me taking photos when it counted, but now I am seriously pursuing this area of creativity as my true passion.  I am still learning, still experimenting and think that will never change.  I love doing abstracts, street photography, and I love doing my own form of photojournalism.  Living in NYC provides a never ending backdrop for finding interesting visual images.

Where will this all lead?  Lots of ideas and dreams… please join me on my photographic adventure to see where this takes me.

Thanks to all who are following me, stay tuned….
