The Halloween Parade in NYC was the perfect venue to explore using a high ISO. I wanted to see what my camera could do without a tripod. All my photos were taken with ISO 3200, something I couldn't have done before without intolerable noise. I have a Nikon D610 and the full frame, within reason, does seem to capture images in the low light situations I am drawn to.
You couldn’t get close to the parade, the crowds were crazy, but that wasn’t my aim. I wanted to experience the surrounding action. The side streets were bustling with animation. I enjoyed seizing the moment, a slice of life, a split second in time.
Street photography, love it!
